West Quoddy Lighthouse at Lubec, Maine, built in 1808 (and replaced in 1831 and again in 1858) at the entrance to Passamaquoddy Bay, marks the easternmost point in the contiguous continental USA. One of the most attractive of US lighthouses, it was automated in 1988 and is now owned by the Maine Bureau of Parks and is managed under the Maine Lights Program.
